KBC First Major Belgian Bank to Offer Crypto Trading

KBC Group launched bitcoin and ether trading on its Bolero platform this week, marking it as the first major Belgian bank to provide such access. The service operates 24/7, including weekends, differing from standard trading hours for traditional assets.

Business AM reports that cryptocurrency trading is now available to Bolero users, with a brokerage fee applied per transaction.

Capped Variable Mortgages Enter the Market

KBC has also rolled out a new variable home loan featuring a ceiling on interest rates at the starting level. This product comes after similar offerings from Belfius and Crelan. Rising mortgage rates since spring 2025 have increased costs for borrowers, leading banks to introduce capped options.

The development highlights banks' efforts to adapt to higher interest environments.

KBC's Market Position

Listed on Euronext Brussels, KBC shares trade at €106.60, with a market cap nearing €48 billion. Analysts maintain an Outperform consensus, with an average target price of €120.

These launches expand KBC's product range amid evolving customer demands in banking and investments.
